Xiaomi Note 10 Series Singapore Price and Review

Xiaomi is one of those smartphone makers that started off with smartphones, did everything else (Electric toothbrushes, kettles and more) and made a big comeback and this time they are going for Gold. The Xiaomi Mi Note 10 and the Mi Note 10 Pro are competing with the bigwigs. Has Xiaomi failed or have they just created the next flagship that you need to buy. Let’s find out!

Design and Display

The front design of the Mi Note 10 and Mi Note 10 Pro will not tickle your fancy. In fact, it’s your average looking phone with a curved screen, a teardrop notch and a big screen. For a model that has been rebooted after a few years, we though Xiaomi would come up with something new and interesting that is similar to the Mate 30 Pro. But it wasn’t to be.

The Mi Note 10 and the Note 10 Pro have the same display size, that is 6.47-inches. These are massive phones with a lot of screen real estate and to top it all off, these are AMOLED screens. AMOLED screens render colours and clarity very beautifully.

There is a bezel all around and in terms of consuming content, it doesn’t get better than this screen.

Hardware and Software Specifications

When it comes to phone companies that release a lot of models, there’s always something lacking in their models that don’t take the phone to the next level and in Xiaomi’s case its the chipset. Both the Mi Note 10 and the Mi Note 10 Pro have the Qualcomm SDM 730 Snapdragon 730G chipset.

It might sound cool, but for the features and capabilities it boasts, this phone is super underpar. Although this chipset is a good fit for gaming, it isn’t a great fit for other purposes.

It’s a bit slow when it comes to using the photo app especially post processing and pixel rendering.

The Mi Note 10 comes with 128GB storage and 6GB of RAM whereas the Mi Note 10 Pro comes with 256GB and 8GB of RAM. The hardware is pretty good in terms of the specifications.

The phone of course runs on MIUI 11 which is Xiaomi’s own OS that is modeled on top of Android 9.0 (Pie)

The MIUI is not the best software out there and it can be better. But it works. The major problem is the unnecessary bloatware that is there on the OS.

Xiaomi is known for this even with their other devices and it’s even worse in the MIUI11. There are also a few games that are preloaded which you might delete if it doesn’t suit your taste.

Cameras

Xiaomi has gone all guns blazing on the cameras. The Mi Note 10 boasts of a 108MP sensor. So let’s take a look at the specifications of the cameras. The Mi Note 10 and the Note 10 Pro have a 108MP wide lens with a 12MP telephoto shooter and a 5MP telephoto and a 20MP ultra wide camera with a 2MP sensor.

The front selfie camera on the Note 10 and the Note 10 Pro is a 32MP shooter.

How good is Xiaomi Note 10 camera?

If you counted right, then you would see there are 5 cameras and all of them have a role to play. The 12MP lens are meant for portrait shots, whereas the 5MP telephoto lens is meant for optical zoom.

You can go from 5x optical zoom to 50x digital zoom. The 20MP ultra wide camera is perfect for wide shots and that comes with its own 2MP sensor too.

In terms of camera quality on the Ultra Wide, there are only a few phones that can compete such as the Mate 30 Pro and the iPhone 11.

The 2MP macro camera is for taking close up shots. The front selfie camera is absolutely splendid and is one of the best selfie cameras going around.

So what about the 108MP sensor. The detailing on the shots with this camera are absolutely brilliant.

The cameras are ably supported by the software with super quick autofocus, AI scene optimizations and more.

The camera is one of the biggest selling points of the Mi Note 10 and the Mi Note 10 Pro. If there’s anything worth buying this phone for, then it’s the cameras.

A true camera lover will love this device.

Battery

The Mi Note 10 Pro and the Mi Note 10 have a 5260 mAh battery each. The weight of this phone can be attributed to this massive battery. So why a big battery? The competition gives you only close to 4250 to 4800 mAh. Xiaomi has gone for the kill and these phones will give you a battery life of two full days. This is, despite the fact that you use all the battery draining apps.

If you are looking for a phone with a very good battery life. Then you can’t beat the Xiaomi Mi Note 10 and Mi Note 10 Pro.

Difference between the Xiaomi Mi Note 10 and Xiaomi Mi Note 10 Pro

Xiaomi Note 10 Series Final Thoughts

The Mi Note 10 and Note 10 Pro are by all means not perfect phones. Xiaomi has taken a calculated bet and has delivered underpar components that they think most people wouldn’t consider – The Chipset.

The chipset is a major letdown on the phone and for a phone this powerful, you might see a bit of lag, especially when you use high capacity non-gaming apps. If you are fine with that, then you will love this phone for the cameras, the battery life, the huge large display.

But if the software and chipset is a major deciding factor for you, then you will have to skip these phones, because the MIUI can be irritating with its bloatware and slightly childish choice of design and the chipset that is meant only for gaming.

But the camera is one of the best cameras going around in the smartphone world. If you love a camera on your phone, then you need a camera phone like the Mi Note 10 or the Mi Note 10 Pro.
