Samsung Note 20 Singapore Review

As you can tell from the prices, the Note 20 isn’t cheap, but it packs some serious firepower. The Note 20 is built for work and productivity and has an advanced stylus. Let’s break this down.

Singapore Samsung Note 20 Design & Display

The Note 20 is a serious looker. It has a massive 6.7-inch display. The Note 10 on the other hand had a slightly smaller 6.3-inch display. It packs 1500 nits of brightness making it one of the brightest phones in the market.

It has a sleek finish and is available in Bronze, Green and Grey. In most promos, the Bronze version is showcased and it’s the best looking version.

The display has a resolution of 2400 pixels by 1080 pixels with a 60Hz refresh rate. For a phone of this price, it should have at least been 120Hz refresh rate. The Note 20 Ultra packs a much better display.

The front display also has a 10-megapixel camera. The bezels are quite thin and it does not have a curved display.

There is a provision at the bottom for the stylus. The back of the S20 is as seamless as it gets and it houses a triple camera.

Samsung Note 20 Stylus

The main highlight for the Note series has always been the stylus. The stylus is a multi functional device that is made for note taking and much more.

The Stylus on the Note 20 is the best it has ever been. The S Pen has the feel of a pen, more than ever. The notes turn into text and the text becomes a Powerpoint presentation. This is the next level of working and it’s possible with the Note 20.

The seamlessness in which the note app works across devices such as the tablet, the Note 20 phone and the laptop is incredible. If you are part of the Samsung ecosystem, the Note 20 is even more of an asset.

It doesn’t end there, the S-pen has Bluetooth enabled and doubles up as a wireless controller for the phone. Simple gestures like Screen Off Memo and Screen Write, makes you more productive.

The S-pen in the initial days was more of a gimmick, but over the past few years, it has become a much needed device and it’s perfect for designers, students and for people who take a lot of notes. Looking for books to take notes? You don’t need it anymore!

Note 20 Performance

Samsung’s claim is, it’s a PC in your pocket and we agree.

Runs on the latest Android 10 and packs a Exynos 990 chipset. The chipset is pretty powerful and makes it even better for gaming.

The Note 10 isn’t all about work. The 5G experience makes online multiplayer games running super quick. The Wi-fi optimizer keeps latency low for uninterrupted gaming and video calls.

It has 256GB of internal storage that can be expanded upto 1TB that ensures you don’t have to buy more storage and practically gives you endless photos and videos without having to delete a few.

Camera

The Note 20 packs three cameras at the back. It has a 12-megapixel ultra-wide camera, 12-megapixel wide-angle camera and a massive 64-megapixel camera with a telephoto lens.

The front selfie camera is a 10-megapixel shooter. If you want to shoot high quality 8K videos, this is the phone to buy.

The camera has advanced AI features that turns one shot into multiple formats. You get 3X hybrid optic zoom. The Samsung’s camera interface is pretty good and it has improved over the years.

It has HDR on the front and the rear cameras, super slow-mo feature and 4K recording in both front and back cameras.

The HDR10+ recording ensures that true hues and tones are maintained with Dynamic Tone Mapping.

Battery

The 4300 mAh battery paired with the super efficient OS ensures that the battery life lasts throughout the day. The max brightness can bring down the battery life by quite a bit.

With 25W charging, you can get a 50% charge in 30 minutes. It also is enabled with Wireless Charging.

The reverse charging is expected and the back of the phone can charge the Galaxy Buds, Galaxy Watch and even the other phones.

Buying Samsung Note 20 in Singapore

The Samsung Note 20 4G and 5G versions are what we can expect from a Note series phone. Although they are a bit expensive, the phone is perfect from every aspect.

If you are one of those people who buys a smartphone every few years and wants a superpower, you can’t go wrong with the Samsung Note 20.

Compared to the Note 20 Ultra 5G, the Note 20 is cheaper. But the Ultra packs a bigger display, curved edges, a 108-megapixel camera and a bigger battery.

Apart from that, both the devices are the same.
