Samsung Z Fold 4 Singapore Price And Review

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold is one of the most anticipated smartphones of this year 2022, Set to release this 15th August 2022, and is priced at SGD 2,496/-. After using the Galaxy Z Fold 3 that did not disappoint in any way and stole the show as one of the best foldable smartphones of 2021. There is much to be expected from the Z Fold 4.

Setting such a high benchmark, I’m really looking forward to the release of Fold 4 which is due in the next month. If you’re as excited as me and want to know what to look forward to from the new Galaxy Fold 4, this article will help you with understanding all the specifics from the research I’ve done to help you make the decision when this magnificent foldable masterpiece is released in August.

Design and Display

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4 likely to feature upgraded camera system - OrissaPOST

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 comes with a large 7.6-inch foldable display that I found to be one of the best foldable screens in the market when compared to the Oppo Find N, and Honor Magic V. The phone is fitted with the latest QXGA + AMOLED screen with an excellent fresh rate of 120Hz that is perfect for watching movies on the go in Full HD offering an immersive viewing experience.

The phone’s secondary screen is also fitted with an AMOLED display but without QXGA with impressive 6.2-inch screen size and 120Hz refresh rate. So you can expect nothing pure HD true color be it if the phone is folded or unfolded. The secondary display is used as a cover display that is very identical to the previous Galaxy Z Fold 3 but with an amped-up refresh rate.

It is rumored that this edition of the Z fold will have a S Pen Stylus similar to the ones present in the Note series of Samsung phones. It is very clear to see and understand that Samsung really focused on improving the performance perspective of the Fold 4 and hasn’t made many changes to the design from the previous Fold 3 apart from the larger display.

You can expect the phone to have a slimmer body and well rounded edges making it feel quite comfortable in the pocket compared to the Fold 3. The hinges that help fold the phone have been re-engineered to be more compact and durable, restricting the accumulation of dust in the phone and allowing the phone to be waterproof to a certain level.

Samsung has confirmed to provide three color variants for the Z Fold 4 which are Beige, Green and Phantom Black.

The overall body weight of the New Z Fold 4 tips at 8.9 ounces, a very big difference from the previous bulkier Fold 3 that weighs about 9.5 ounces.

One of the biggest differences I found when looking at the phone is the complete upgrade of the back camera placement and design which resembles the new S22 Ultra from Samsung which without doubt adds a lot of character to the body and design.

One of the features that would remain the same from the Fold 3 would be the fingerprint sensing power button on the side of the phone. I feel this is the right decision made by Samsung as you can unlock the phone while unfolding the screen making it more comfortable to operate as well as giving the user of the previous Fold 3 a sense of familiarity which is key to any phone upgrade.

The screen glass overlay is said to be toughened and much more durable compared to the previous Z fold 3. The exact glass used in the phone will be known only after the release in August.

Camera

One of the main highlights rumored of the Z Fold 4 has to be the 50-megapixel camera with an optical zoom of 3x. It is also rumored that it will have three 12-megapixel cameras with the design taken from the S22 Ultra, but I feel they will be selling themselves short for one is one of the most expensive phones in the market worth 2,496 SGD.

A front 16MP camera is installed underneath the display, the first of its kind in the list of Samsung phones out this year. I’m really looking forward to this as the punch hole front camera on most other smartphones this year is so appealing compared to this futuristic design.

After checking with all my sources it is most likely that you can expect a 108-megapixel main camera with an HM3 1/1.33in ISOCELL sensor with a 10 MP 3x zoom along with a 12 Mega Pixel Wide camera.

Battery

The Samsung Fold 4 with all the upgrades has really let me down with the battery it is said to have, The Fold 3 came with a 4275 mAh battery split on both sides of the phone, and the Fold 4 is said to have 4400 mAh battery.

All we can hope for is the battery being of better quality that the fold three and the charge longer, it is said to have a 25w fast charging with the option for wireless charging capabilities. This is again the same as Fold 3.

With two displays and 1TB storage, which is twice as much as the Fold 3, I expected a more powerful battery that can essentially provide the phone with power to last an entire day but we won’t know why Samsung would do this till the phone is released.

Performance and Internal Specs

Samsung has always provided some of the most versatile combinations of specs for their phone that brings out the best performance from their phones.

The Samsung Z Fold 4 is not in any way less as it is rumored to have a Snapdragon 8 Gen1 processor, there is also a very good chance I’ve heard from other sources that the phone will have the new 8+ Gen 1 Snapdragon Processor which was released in May of this year.

Now coming to the basic specs of the phone, I’ve checked with reliable sources who have been the most accurate of the lot. And this is what we’ve come to believe. The phone will have a 7.6 inch QXGA+ AMOLED 120Hz front main display with a 6.2 inch HD+ AMOLED 120Hz Secondary display.

The phone will have a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor that will be back with a large 12GB RAM and internal Storage space of up to 512GB, this is by far one of the best internal storage capacities provided for the phone to support the camera capture quality without running out of space for high-speed functionality.

The back camera as spoken above is said to have a 50MP main camera with a 12 MP ultra-wide camera 3x.

The phones will have a base software of Android 12 with OneUI 4.1.1 it can be expected that by the time the phone is released it should have the latest Android OS running on the phone.

This is probably the most disappointing part of the phone, it is said to have the same battery size as the Samsung Fold 3 which is a 4400 mAh battery with 25w fast charging.

Conclusion

As you can see with all the rumored specs of the Fold 4 it is definitely a phone that is going to be a game-changer in the foldable phone series. I’m still hoping Samsung will surprise us all with better battery capabilities but all we can do is hope for now. I hope this article will help you make your decision when the phone releases this August.

FAQs

How Many Variants Can We Expect of the Fold 4?

After checking with multiple sources, I come to the conclusion that as per the memory options there will be three variants. 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB, Although we are doubting the 1TB variant as the option of external storage is provided.

Will The Fold 4 have an Under-Screen Camera?

I’ve noticed that the Punch-Hole camera design hasn’t exactly sat well in the market as it distorts the viewing pleasure of the screen, it is rumored that the Fold 4 will have an Under-screen camera that will function much better than the Fold 3 under-screen camera which was disappointing as it was only 4 megapixel.

Does the Fold 4 support wireless charging?

Yes, it is rumoured that the Fold 4 will support wireless charging capabilities, but this feature will be provided without Fast charging capabilities. So it will take double the amount of time to charge your phone when using the wireless charging option.
