The latest addition to the fleet of the selfie centric camera phones by Oppo A77 Singapore is the successor to the A37 and A39 variants. The phone was released this May in Taiwan and targets the selfie crazy youngster mass. The device is powered by an Octa Core processor and is expected to provide some tough competition in the segment.
PHYSICAL FEATURES
The physical features of the A77 almost clash with that of Oppo F3 except the dual front cameras. Oppo A77 comes with a 5.5” display with a resolution of 1080*1920 pixels. The hone is dimensioned at 153.3mm*75.2mm*7.3mm and is available in Gold and Rose Gold colour variants. The finger print scanner is integrated to the front panel of the phone. The phone has a 3.5mm slot for headphone jacks and a micro USB charging slot. The corners are curved giving the phone a classy look.
PERFORMANCE, DISPLAY AND STORAGE
The phone is powered by Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) and runs on the MediaTek MT6750T chipset. The graphics processor is Mali-T860 MP2. The phone is packed with 4 gigs of RAM. The dual SIM phone has an IPS LCD display with a pixel density of 401 ppi. The touch screen type is capacitive and also supports multi touch. The phone comes with 64 gigabytes of in built storage space. However a SD card can be used to expand the storage space up to 256 gigabytes. The display is Full HD which makes it one of the best multimedia devices in the price range.
CAMERA
The device has a 13 megapixel rear shooter with a 2.0F aperture lens. The features of the camera include digital zoom, Auto flash, face detection, tap to focus, exposure compensation and ISO control. The images are obtained with a resolution of 4128*3096 pixels. However the camera does not support optical image stabilization.
The selfie camera maintains a class of its own. The 16 megapixel shooter also comes with a front LED flash. The front camera is one of the reasons which make the phone a great device. The image quality of the pictures using the front camera is really amazing and the camera also supports 1920*1080 video recording at 30 frames per second.
BATTERY AND NETWORK CONNECTIVITY
The phone derives power from a non removable 3200 mAh juice pack. The device supports dual sim facility in a hybrid sim slot. The device also supports 4g connectivity. The wifi feature on the phone is good at switching to the better network instantly and is the fastest in response. The device also uses Bluetooth 4.2 for connectivity. However the phone does not support transfers via NFC. The sensors put to use on the phone include the proximity sensor, accelerometer and compass. The finger print scanner is pretty accurate and surprisingly responsive and doubles up as a physical home button.

With pre existing devices like the flagship F3 with amazing selfie camera, the introduction of the A77 model has lightened the intentions of OPPO to capture the market with the selfie centric phones.
