Xiaomi Poco F4 Singapore Design

The Poco F4 has a simple and ordinary design. And this is not bad in any way, it is a simple elegant design that blends in. If you like minimalistic designs like me, then you will like the Poco F4.

It chamfered edges similar to iPhone 14 lineup. The camera island on the back is large and distinct housing the three cameras in a triangular fashion. Below the cameras, you can find the flash module and some camera branding.

Both the power button and volume rocker are present on the right side of the phone. The power button also doubles as a fingerprint sensor. Unlocking the phone using the fingerprint sensor was quick and easy as it is with all side-mounted fingerprint sensors.

Compared to its more powerful sister, Poco F4 is not that heavy or as bulky too. This makes it even more ergonomic and easier to use. Overall, I like the design of the Poco F4. It’s understated yet elegant. It won’t turn heads but it won’t make you look bad either.

Xiaomi Poco F4 Singapore Display

The Poco F4 shines in the display department literally. It uses a large 6.67-inch AMOLED screen that is capable of hitting peak brightness levels of 1300 nits. If that isn’t shiny, then no phone is. The Poco F4 comes with support for Dolby Vision and HDR10+ for movies and shows.

No matter what we threw at the Poco F4, it looked great and delivered a wide spectrum of colors. Images and videos were detailed, bright, and super smooth.

For a smartphone with a bold emphasis on entertainment, the Poco F4s display is amazing. It looks great for all types of content, text, images, videos, and games. I did not notice any distortions or warps, nor were there any lags while watching high-resolution content.

However, the Poco F4’s display has a larger than usual cutout for the selfie camera at the top. Xiaomi could have opted for an under-display camera to provide more space on the screen given they know how to implement the technology.

Xiaomi Poco F4 Singapore Performance

The main reason why we fell in love with the Poco F4, is its high-end performance for a midrange price. The Poco F4 has a flagship-level processor running under the hood. Even the RAM and Storage are high speed at LPDRR5 and UFS 3.1 respectively.

The Snapdragon 870 processor might be a bit old now but it delivers effortless speed, the apps loaded quickly, and the animations and switching between apps were super smooth.

Not a single game struggled on the Poco F4. However, despite the decent cooling system, the phone did get a bit warm when gaming for 30 minutes at a stretch.

Poco F4 runs the MIUI 13 version of MIUI which is quite lightweight. There are fewer ads and bloat apps preinstalled on the phone, so from the second we powered on the Poco F4, it delivered top-notch performance without having to struggle.

Xiaomi Poco F4 Singapore Camera

Since the  Poco F4 is designed primarily for gamers, Xiaomi did not put much thought into the camera department. The Poco F4 features a triple camera setup with a 64 MP main wide lens, an 8 MP ultrawide sensor, and a 2 MP macro lens.

The 64 MP main camera does a good job of capturing the correct levels of color and brightness in the daytime and in well-lit situations. The focus is accurate and quick most times as well. But like most mid-range smartphones, the Poco F4 struggles in the night or poorly lit conditions, and photos and videos end up getting grainy.

The 8MP Ultrawide sensor is decent but photos and videos taken from it don’t look like the main sensor, which is not good. And finally, the useless 2MP sensor as you have guessed is useless and terrible.

The Poco F4 also comes with a 20MP wide-angle selfie camera which again did not blow our minds, but at least the selfies were not over-processed.

Both cameras did shoot videos quite well with the rear camera capable of 4K at 30/60fps and the front camera maxing out at 1080p at 30/60fps which in my opinion is ideal enough for daily use and the occasional reels.

Xiaomi Poco F4 Singapore Battery

The Poco F4 features a 4,500 mAh battery, which might not sound large nowadays, however, the Poco F4 can easily last a whole day on a single charge. This is thanks to the efficient Snapdragon 870 and Xiaomi’s MIUI doing their jobs well.

It can even last up to 2 days, but that’s only when the load running on the phone is low with a minimal screen on time. overall the battery life on the Poco F4 is above average and you won’t face any issues.

The phone also features fast charging in the form of a  powerful 67W fast charging tech.  The phone is advertised to charge from 0-100% in under 38 minutes which is not bad. From our testing, the Poco F4 comfortably charged from 0 to 100 in under 40 minutes which is close to the claims.

This is still quite spectacular and is definitely something to look forward to if you’re considering buying the phone to play games.

Trust me when I say this, with the Poco F4, you never have to charge it overnight and all we did was simply wait for around 30 minutes in the morning for it to last the day.

Final Thoughts on Poco F4 Singapore Prices

The Xiaomi Poco F4 is a premium mid-ranger and so it faces stiff competition from brands like Realme, OnePlus, and even Xiaomi itself. There are plenty of good smartphones in this price category with similar specs. However, the Poco F4 offers reliable performance and good software experience.

Xiaomi has come a long way in terms of software and the MIUI 13 is a testament to this fact. MIUI 13 along with Android 12 is stable, feature-rich, and fast. The Poco F4 offers excellent performance along with decent battery life for the price. And the display on the Poco F4 is simply superb.

Overall, the Xiaomi Poco F4 is a well-rounded midrange phone and I would recommend it to anyone who doesn’t use the camera a lot.
