One of the major downsides of a budget smartphone is the build and quality. Most of the times, it feels cheap. But the Realme C1’s has a good build quality and has a premium touch to it.
So what gives it the premium touch? The glossy back finish which rivals the best looking phones out there. The body is made of plastic which is palpable on touch.
The front of the phone is a full-screen edge to edge 6.2-inch HD+ display. The screen to body ratio is about 88.8% which is pretty good.
The two big downsides to the display are the notch and the thick bezels at the bottom that take away the beauty of the display.
The good news is, they have a 3.5mm jack. But the bad news is, there isn’t any fingerprint scanner. This isn’t a big howler, but considering most budget devices have a fingerprint scanner, this is an area of concern.
Powering this phone is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 that runs on 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. This storage can be expanded up to 128GB via a micro sd card.
The OS of this phone is Colour OS 5.1 which is a layer on top of Android 8.0 Oreo. It has amazing features such as Smart Assistant, Gesture Navigation among others.
Coming to the business end, the C1 has a dual real camera setup that is 13MP + 2MP. In the front, there is an AI-powered 5MP selfie camera.
The camera is as expected for a budget smartphone. Nothing special to write home about.
The battery on this phone is brilliant. It’s a 4230 mAh battery that lasts for more than a day under normal use.
At the price point, the Realme C1 is a real show stopper. Premium finish, decent enough cameras, great software and an amazing battery makes this phone a winner.
