Nokia 8110 4G with Facebook and Whatsapp enabled Singapore Price
The Nokia 8110 is unlike anything we’ve written about. The Nokia 8110 Singapore is called the banana phone because of its shape. This is a throwback to at least a decade and a half back when feature phones used to rule the roost. Nokia before the iPhone era was the unanimous market leader.
They were the company to beat.
But this isn’t a Nokia phone. HMD Global the, finnish company has the license to use the Nokia name and keeping up with old school Nokia traditions, they’ve stuck to making feature phones as well.
And it’s working.
The first thing we need to obviously talk about with this phone is the color. The yellow is the brightest and most captivating yellow you might have ever seen on a phone. This is an old school Porsche 911 sort of a yellow.
It stands out and it’s beautiful.
Being a feature phone, this is a sub S$109 phone, priced at S$102. Selling at even lower at Red White Mobile.
The Design and Specifications
The Old 8110 was a curved phone and was popularised by the Matrix. Keeping to traditions, this phone is also curved and can fit in the palm of your hand. This is also a slide phone, where you can manually slide the phone out to get access to the keypads and you can close it when not in use and to cut calls.
The only issue with the curved design is, it doesn’t sit inside the pocket very well and it juts out, especially in tight pants, although the phone is small.
This is not a touch phone and the screen size is only 2.4 inch. It has 4GB of space for music and photos and a 3.5MM jack with which you can listen to stored music and the radio as well.
Surprisingly this phone has a camera and a flash. But it’s your rudimentary 2MP camera which really doesn’t do much.
The 1500mAh is really good for a feature phone and the phone lasts for 25 days on standby.
The 512MB RAM is enough for this phone. But what is path breaking news is the availability of apps like Facebook, Twitter, Google Maps and Google Assistant.
If these features on like HMD suggest, then this phone can actually eat a lot of the smartphone market because the majority of smartphone users use their phones for basic texting calls and communication through Facebook.
It’s safe enough to say Nokia is back.
