Huawei isn’t known for its budget devices at all. It’s known for super powerful flagships like the Mate series and P series. But Huawei has realized that they can’t just compete in that category and have made their way to the budget segment which is ruled by Xiaomi and Realme.
They are hoping to have a strong contender with the Y6p.
The Y6p has a 6.3-inch IPS LCD screen with a dew drop notch. It has thick bezels at the bottom. The body is made of plastic and the frame is also made of plastic. But it has been coated with a special layer that reflects and makes the back look like glass, which is pretty cool.
The Y6p is available in three colours – Phantom Purple, Emerald Green and Midnight Black.
The phone is powered by a MT6762R Helio P22 Helio P22 Processor which is a staple standard for mid-range budget phones. It’s quick, snappy and makes the phone a breeze to use.
It comes with 64GB of internal storage with 4GB RAM. The storage can be expanded up to 512GB that can be bought externally.
The Y6p runs on the EMUI OS which is Huawei’s very own version of Android 10.0. If you are wondering about the Play Store, here’s your answer.
Huawei has created the Huawei AppGallery, which is their very own Playstore with a bunch of apps. It’s not as extensive as Google’s Playstore, but it’s a start.
The Huawei Y6p also has one of the powerful loudspeakers in the market where the phone can belt out music at 88db which makes it 1.6 times louder than other phones.
The camera on the Y6p are a triple camera setup of 13MP wide camera, 5MP ultra-wide camera and a 2MP depth camera.
The selfie camera is a 8MP shooter with AI beauty mode.
The cameras are crisp, clear and are really good for a budget device.
The Y6p also packs a powerful 5000 mAh battery which is quite generous for a small phone. It can easily last for two days on a single charge and can be continuously used for 20 hours on blazing fast 4G browsing.
