Huawei Mate XS Singapore Price
There has been a surge of ‘foldable’ phones with Samsung coming up with the Fold and Fold 2 and Motorola’s new Razr. A few other phone makers have jumped on the bandwagon and now it’s Huawei’s turn.
Huawei’s Mate series, now includes the XS which is their rendition of the folding phone. Does it make sense? Is it worth it?
First of all, let me say. This phone is freakishly expensive and if you are just looking for a phone to buy with features, steer clear.
This is for tech enthusiasts and people who have a lot of money to spend on a phone that folds.
The unfolded screen size of the Mate XS is 8-inches big and the folded version of it is about 6.6-inches.
So as phones go, this is a pretty massive screen, even when it’s folded. So if you love large displays, then you’ll love this phone.
It runs on Android 10.0 with EMUI 10.0. A great OS and on top of that Huawei’s very own version of Android, which is pretty great.
It has the Hisilicon Kirin 990 5G, which is a pretty powerful chipset. The CPU and GPU on the Mate XS is pretty good for gaming.
It has 512GB of internal storage and an option to increase it by 256GB of storage.
It has a quad-camera set-up with a 40MP wide camera, 8MP telephoto and a 16MP ultrawide lens. It also has a TOF 3D depth camera.
It has a side mounted fingerprint sensor. It makes sense how this phone doesn’t have an on-display fingerprint sensor.
The 4500 mAh battery might be a tad less considering the display size. But it does have a fast charging feature.
A lot of people might not buy the Mate XS. But in the future, folding phones might become the norm.
