Huawei Mate 20 Singapore
The Mate 20 has a lot to live up to considering it’s bigger brother, the Mate 20 Pro is arguably the best smartphone of the season. So let’s dig into the specifics of the Mate 20 and see if it checks our boxes.
Huawei is going big with all its phones and it’s the same story with the Mate 20. Rocking a 6.53-inch display, this is a behemoth. It has a LCD screen and that justifies the lower price point.
Just like it’s bigger brother, the Mate 20 has a teardrop notch that looks stylish. Due to this, it has an 88% screen to bezel ratio which makes the display pop.
The body is metal with a glossy finish. It has a gradient look in the back and it truly makes the phone look futuristic.
The Mate 20 is powered by Android 9 with EMUI 9 on top of it. EMUI 9 has a lot of layers and UI differences compared to stock Android. The OS also has an interesting feature called the EMUI desktop which lets you use your phone through a desktop computer seamlessly.
The Kirin 980 processor makes using apps a breeze.
The Mate 20 has a 4000 mAh battery which keeps the phone powered for a good two days for light users. The battery is ably supported by the OS which has two power saving modes which help battery life.
The 4GB RAM is accompanied by 64GB in internal memory. There is also a 6GB RAM version with 128GB in internal storage for power users.
Similar to the Pro version, the Mate 20 rocks three cameras in the neatly placed square design in the back. It has a 12MP primary camera, 16MP ultrawide camera, and an 8MP telephoto camera.
The selfie camera is a good 24MP that outdoes its competitors.
The Mate 20 is a poor man’s Mate 20 Pro. Absolutely worth it with power-packed features that can put any flagship to shame.
