Although Google owns Android, it has been a spectator on a lot of occasions during the smartphone wars. From time to time they have delivered a hit, such as the Pixel 2. This year, they bring the Pixel 4.
The Google Pixel 4 has a lot of uniqueness that we will cover today.
The first thing you notice about the Pixel 4 is it’s an average joe or a plain jane smartphone. There’s nothing that stands out in the looks department.
There is a top bezel that is quite thick for a modern day smartphone. But thats in place only because you can unlock your phone’s screen with ease. It also has some latest tech unseen on other phones that is the smart gestures. This is using gestures without touching your phone to control your music and other apps.
The display is a P-OLED 5.7-inch screen with Gorilla Glass 5 for protection. This is a problem because the size of the phone is small and the bezel is quite thick.
For those of you who are looking for a fabulous OS, then you have the Android 10 that will enthral you. It also has a SDM855 Snapdragon 855.
It comes in Black, White and Orange which look classy and at the same time are a bit understated.
There are two storage options – 64GB and 128GB and 6GB RAM to power everything. The cameras on the Pixel 4 are a dual camera setup with a 12.2MP + 16MP (telephoto). It has a dual-LED flash and it can shoot 2160p at 30fps.
The front camera is an 8-megapixel shooter that does its job well.
The big downside for the Google Pixel 4 is its battery life. It’s a measly 2800 mAh. For power users, you’ll need to carry a powerbank quite often and that’s a big worry.
Overall the Pixel 4 delivers in the important departments. But it’s not a flagship that is a giant killer.
