A20 Pro – Faster Performance and More AI Processing
At the heart of the iPhone 18 Pro Max is the A20 Pro, Apple’s new 2nm-generation Pro chip.
It combines a 6-core CPU, 7-core GPU with Neural Accelerators and a Dual 16-core Neural Engine. Apple says memory bandwidth is 50% higher than A19 Pro, while the new GPU delivers up to 40% higher graphics performance compared with A19 Pro.
Apple has also redesigned the thermal system. A next-generation vapour chamber works with the new A20 Pro packaging to improve sustained performance during intensive workloads such as gaming, video editing and AI processing.
6.9-inch Super Retina XDR Display
The iPhone 18 Pro Max features a 6.9-inch Super Retina XDR OLED display with a resolution of 2868 × 1320 pixels at 460 ppi.
Display features include ProMotion adaptive refresh rates up to 120Hz, Always-On display, HDR, True Tone, P3 wide colour, 2,000,000:1 contrast ratio and up to 3,000 nits outdoor peak brightness. Apple also lists an anti-reflective coating and Ceramic Shield 2 front protection.
A redesigned Dynamic Island occupies less display space and can display up to three Live Activities simultaneously.
48MP Pro Fusion Camera With Variable Aperture
One of the most significant iPhone 18 Pro Max upgrades is its 48MP Pro Fusion camera system.
The 48MP Fusion Main camera introduces physical variable aperture with ƒ/1.48, ƒ/1.8, ƒ/2.8 and ƒ/4.0 settings. This gives photographers greater control over light intake and depth of field than a fixed-aperture main camera. Apple describes variable aperture as a major new creative control for the iPhone 18 Pro generation.
The system includes a 48MP Fusion Main, 48MP Fusion Ultra Wide and 48MP Fusion Telephoto camera. The telephoto system provides a 4x option at 100mm and an optical-quality 8x option at 200mm, while digital zoom extends up to 40x.
For video creators, the iPhone 18 Pro Max supports features including 4K Dolby Vision, ProRes, ProRes RAW, Apple Log 2, Genlock, Cinematic mode and advanced stabilisation.
18MP Center Stage Front Camera
The front camera is an 18MP Center Stage camera with autofocus.
It supports Center Stage for photos and video calls, Dual Capture, ultra-stabilised video, 4K Dolby Vision recording, Cinematic mode and ProRes recording with external storage.
Battery Life and Faster Charging
Battery endurance is another major focus. Apple describes the iPhone 18 Pro Max as delivering its best-ever battery life on a Pro model, aided by improvements to Apple silicon and a larger battery.
Apple lists up to 43 hours of video playback, and its Singapore product page says the 18 Pro Max can provide up to six additional hours of video playback compared with the iPhone 17 Pro Max.
With a compatible high-power adapter, Apple says the phone can reach approximately 50% charge in around 15 minutes. MagSafe and Qi2 wireless charging support speeds up to 25W.
iPhone 18 Pro Max vs iPhone 17 Pro Max – What’s Different?
The biggest generational changes are in processing, cameras, battery endurance and the Dynamic Island.
The iPhone 18 Pro Max moves from A19 Pro to A20 Pro, with Apple emphasizing higher AI and sustained graphics performance. The main camera gains variable aperture, providing physical aperture control that was not available on the previous model. Apple also says the new model provides up to six more hours of video playback than the iPhone 17 Pro Max.
The new Pro Max weighs 249g, while the Dynamic Island has been redesigned to take up less space and display additional live information.
For buyers deciding whether to upgrade, the practical attractions are therefore the new camera controls, A20 Pro performance, additional battery endurance and new AI capabilities rather than simply a larger display.
Apple Intelligence and Siri AI
The iPhone 18 Pro Max ships with iOS 27 and Apple’s latest generation of Apple Intelligence.
Apple says the new Apple Intelligence experience powers Siri AI, with a greater emphasis on conversational interactions, personal context and integration across apps while maintaining Apple’s privacy architecture.
The A20 Pro’s new Neural Accelerators and Dual 16-core Neural Engine are specifically designed to accelerate on-device intelligence workloads.
Apple Singapore Warranty – Important Information for Buyers
Red White Mobile’s Singapore units are sold as brand-new sealed sets with a 1-year Apple Singapore warranty.
Customers should keep their purchase invoice as proof of purchase.
It is also important to understand Apple’s warranty conditions when buying an iPhone for use overseas. Apple’s warranty terms state that Apple may restrict iPhone warranty service to the country where Apple or an Apple Authorized Distributor originally sold the device. Service options and parts availability can also vary by country. Therefore, buyers should not assume that an iPhone purchased in Singapore has guaranteed worldwide warranty service.
