Apple for, well over a decade has managed to capture the attention of people with their iPhones. But for the first time in their history of making smartphones, they are the ones chasing.

iPhone 11 Release Date

Finally, the time has come when Apple has unveiled their latest offerings and it’s very good news for Apple fans. Firstly, the price of the iPhones have been slashed compared to last year. This means you can own a brand new iPhone for cheaper than compared to the past. Apple has released three iPhones called the iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max. They also come in new colours, which we will discuss a bit later.

Update :

In terms of a release date, Apple has announced that all phones will be released in Singapore on September 20th.

The iPhone 11 – Naming Convention

Apple has had a few problems with its naming convention in the past. They awkwardly had named the cheaper budget version of the iPhone 5 as the iPhone 5C which many people conveniently mocked, by calling it the iPhone 5 Cheap. For the new iPhones, Apple may actually do away from the XS, XR and XS Max. If news leakers are to be believed, they are expected to go with the ‘Pro’ suffix. So the iPhone 11 Pro for example.

Update :

The rumours of the Pro suffix was absolutely right. Apple has also released the highest model which is the Apple 11 Pro Max.

iPhone Trade-up Program

People can’t possibly dole out wads of cash every year for a new iPhone. And this is why Apple launched a trade-up program in Singapore in 2018. If you upgrade, Apple gives you cashback if you have an eligible device that you trade-in. This is a good deal for people who want to give-in their old phones and buy the new one.

Prices of the iPhone 11 Singapore

The iPhone 11 for the main version is expected to retail at S$1383. That number will obviously go higher, if you are looking for higher storage such as 256GB and 512GB. If Apple decides to launch an equivalent of the iPhone XR, that is expected to retail at $1037. There is no respite for Apple fans, as they have to pay a high price for buying an iPhone that increases the value of these phones.

Coming to the iPhone 11 models prices. Apple has gone on to surprise everybody by slashing the prices across the board. If you take a look at the basic iPhone 11 option and compare it to the iPhone XR, you get the latest iPhone 11 for a 10% reduction.

So in terms of an opportunity to purchase a brand new iPhone, there is no better time than now!

But the prices for the iPhone 11 Pro which is an upgrade on the iPhone XS, it’s the same price. So only the lower end model has got a major price cut! So here are the prices in Cash Payment Offer.

Features of the iPhone 11

Coming to the meat of the article. So what features will the iPhone 11 boast about?

First things first, the iPhone 11 will be run with iOS 13, which is Apple’s latest software. Apple is expected to announce the new iOS at WWDC 2019. They are expected to ship with a 6.1-inch and 6.5-inch OLED displays. But in total, it is expected that Apple will release 2 OLED devices and 1 LCD iPhone.

The top-end iPhone, the iPhone 11 Max, as we have seen in the photos will have a triple camera setup. The iPhone XR’s upgrade is supposed to have two cameras.

Talking a bit more about the camera, the three cameras is supposed to have a ultra-wide-angle lens, zoom lens and the normal shooter.

For the first time in the history of the iPhone, the 2019 iPhones are expected to have bi-directional charging, which means it can receive battery charge and dole out charge as well.

The front facing camera is expected to have a 12-megapixel camera compared to a 7-megapixel camera in the older version.

iPhone 11 Display

Although Apple and Samsung are crazy competitors, they get together for displays. The Samsung Note 10 has a new set of displays and the new iPhones are expected to have the same OLED displays!

Why?

It seems Apple is happy with the quality of the display and the other factor is the cost. As Apple can pay lesser as Samsung make it for the Note 10 devices.

iOS 13

The new iOS surely has some big time updates in terms of the software. The iPhone is expected to ship with the A13 Processor and an advanced taptic engine and new updates on the camera app.

Other Rumours

Is there going to be a 5G phone? The answer is no. That is expected to be out in the next year. It’s the same with the 120Hz OLED Retina Display, that is expected to ship in 2020. Even the advanced AR and VR features is expected to ship in 2020.

There’s been a lot of conversation about 3D touch and it might be the end of 3D touch, which is Apple’s pressure sensitive touch feature. Is this going to change things for you? Not really!

So will the iPhone of 2019 look like the iPhones of 2018? Pretty much!

The change is on the inside. The chips are going to be faster, the cameras are going to be even more brilliant, if that’s possible.

Updates:

Details about the latest iPhones

  • iPhone 11 Pro and Pro Max are the first iPhones with 3 lense

The rumour mills are true and iPhone 11 Pro and the Pro max will have three lenses which is ultra wide, wide and telephoto. This iPhone will be by far the best camera phone in the world.

  • Colour Options

The colour options for the iPhones have increased too. Apart from the White and Black and Red, the iPhone 11 will come in Purple, Green and Yellow.

The 11 Pro and 11 Pro Max will be available in Gold, Space Grey, Silver and Midnight Green. The last of the colour options are the most talked about!

  • Battery Life

Apple has always focused on improving the battery life of their phones. The iPhone 11 will have a 1 hour better battery life than the iPhone XR. The iPhone 11 Pro on the other hand has a 4 hour better battery life than the iPhone XS and the iPhone 11 Pro Max will have a better battery life by over 5 hours! This makes it one of the best phones in terms of battery life.

  • iPhone 11 Pro Display

The iPhone 11 Pro might have the smallest screen but in terms of the quality, it’s the best. It has a Super Retina 5.8-inch XDR OLED display. This is one of the best displays out there.

  • The Design

Apple’s design has been quite basic in the past few years, but the iPhone 11 Pro comes in a stainless steel finish plus matte glass design. As mentioned earlier, the deep green iPhone is the best looking of the lot.

  • Water Proof

In the commercials that Apple has released on Youtube,  you can see the iPhones taking a hit, getting dropped, scratched and even water poured over it. Apple wants us to know that the iPhone is strong and a little water won’t hurt. In fact, the iPhone 11 Pro can go up to 4 metres and can be underwater for up to 30 metres which is pretty awesome!

To summarise what’s different

Apple has gone with upgrades to the camera. Apple is expecting to rake in the big bucks with only one major feature and that’s the camera. Is that enough? Only time will tell.

Now for colours. If rumours are to be believed, the iPhone 11 is expected to ship in Black, White, Gold and Dark Green!

The Dark Green is a new colour that is never seen before, even amongst competitors. But there’s also one small change which might be a problem for a few users and that is the word “iPhone” will not be written on the back.

The mute button is also expected to be different. Instead of the long-oval styled button, the mutton button will just be a casual circle button. This probably gives an insight into Apple’s changes in their design thinking.
